Helping the LAEDC to Save Jobs and Businesses

(Los Angeles, CA) 2014 - McGregor Shott recently worked with the LA City Workforce Investment Board (WIB) to create materials for its Layoff Aversion Program. The program identifies and targets at-risk businesses in the City of Los Angeles, conducts in-depth needs assessment consultations to uncover issues and challenges to business sustainability, and links at-risk businesses with resources and programs that can provide support and aid in retaining and strengthening their operations.

Materials included a complete brand for the Layoff Aversion program, timely monthly email newsletters, testimonials and photos of select businesses, masthead logo, and direct mail to be distributed to 6,015 at-risk businesses throughout the county. Both English and Spanish language versions were provided. As a result, 13 businesses and 1,164 jobs were retained and sustained, and 386 in-person consultation needs assessments were performed.
